[Orion's Drama News] In Sickness and In Inebriation

A lot of new shows are starting and many are coming up as summer comes to a close. "Drinking Alone" gives us a glimpse of its drinkers, lonely and not. Cancer-themed romantic comedy "Fantastic" will be starting soon and its promise is as undeniable as the oddity of the genre attached to its premise. "The K2" is a highly expected series and the creators know it, because they are all about the teasing. I also share other news and I have my picks for this drama season!

Drinking (Clearly Not) Alone

Korean drama has a funny sense of censorship and promoting rampant alcoholism is definitely excluded. Whether one supports this or not, one has to admire the dedication of "Drinking Alone" in turning this feature into a concept. Ha Seok-jin and Park Ha-sun, who portray the booze-loving, bickering pair have a glamorous photoshoot out and please know that I really did fight the urge to call them "intoxicatingly beautiful". The drama also has two teasers out.

Fantastic "Happy Dying" Approaches

Romantic comedy coupled with terminal illness is not exactly a concept which fills me with confidence, but the promotional material out for "Fantastic" is certainly enjoyable. This week we get some behind the scenes shots showing a happy filming environment, some stills from our ladies' high school days and very nice posters. The tone seems to be consistently light, which is what the drama promises. You can also check its fourth teaser out. "Fantastic" will be wish us next week.

"The K2" Drops Cruel Teaser

My experience with writer Jang Hyeok-rin has been a painful one, but if there is one thing I can give him for "Reset", "Yong Pal" and now "The K2" is that he does pick interesting concepts. I call the teaser "cruel" because it reveals so little and I want to see more, which means it does its job well. We also get some Ji Chang-wook teasing with a couple of filming shots. The series has added Song Kyung-chul to the cast, so there is another feature of it to love right there.

Upcoming Drama Goodies

An OST teaser has been released for "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" and we have more information on Lee Joon-gi's character as well. "My Sassy Girl - Drama" has been a bit of a mess on the casting front, but it might have found its solution in actress Kim Yoon-hye. Meanwhile, "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" might get Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ye-won joins "Tomorrow With You". "Shopping King Louis" has not released a lot of material, but Seo In-guk's character is already looking like a hoot.

Followed Dramas

The "Wanted" review will be out next week, because I took on "Fantastic" for a preview, a first look and a review. You can read the preview today and follow William's episode reviews when it starts. "The Good Wife" is ending and I am excited, but also sad to say goodbye. If all goes according to schedule, I will be doing episode reviews for "The K2" and "Shopping King Louis", so there is my next season settled. How about yours?
