OSMU Killer Contents for the Global Market Selected

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA, President & CEO Lee Jae-woong) announced the recipients of the "OSMU Killer Contents Production Grant" project for 2009. The project was designed to promote the development of best practices for OSMU (one source, multi use) of Korean contents in the global market.

The "OSMU Killer Contents Production Grant" project was launched by the MCST and KOCCA in an effort to promote inter-genre collaboration and profit maximization by the Korean contents industry in 2008. Candidate projects are reviewed by a panel of judges (consisting of experts in marketing, production, story development, and investment) and the evaluation is based on the OSMU proposal's competitiveness, a company's production capacity, and any collaboration system with contents companies specializing in other genres.

Recipients of this year's grant project are SamG Animation's "Vroomies", Samhwa Networks' "Telecinema", and Younggu Art's "The Dumb Mafia". They will receive production and marketing assistance and a grant of as much as KRW1.2 billion.

The grant project received a total of 106 applications during the two times of invitation this year. This shows just how greatly the industry's interest in OSMU Killer Contents has grown over time.
