Historical drama "Painter of the Wind" will be aired in 63 countries worldwide. The Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange struck a deal with SBS production to export the acclaimed drama to 63 countries in Central Asia and Africa. KOFICE representative reported that it aims to introduce Korean contents to regions that are relatively underexposed to Korean pop culture. Korea expects the popularity of this drama could lead to an export boom in those areas.

"Painter of the Wind" was chosen, because it was deemed highly artistic and entertaining, as well as representative of old Korean culture. Its unusual and engaging plot and exceptional visual artistry will help inform the world about Korean art and beauty.

Already concluded in Korea, "Painter of the Wind" follows the lives of two esteemed painters in the Joseon Dynasty. Based on the book of the same title, the drama posits that master painter Shin Yun-bok, one of the two main characters, was actually a woman.
