Operator SPC Group said Thursday that as part of its expansion in China it has moved its Beijing factory to Tianjin and increased its size at a cost of W40 billion (US$1=W1,138). It is the largest of SPC Group's 12 overseas production bases.

Paris Baguette entered the Chinese market in 2004. It opened the 100th store eight years after its entry and the 200th store some five years later. But it took only one-and-a-half years after that to open the 300th store, with the total number at 301 currently.

The group hopes that the new factory, which has capacity to produce over 390 items, will support further expansion in China.
