"Thirst" wrapped up filming on October 9 after five months. Director Park Chan-wook's film was shot in Korea and Australia. Around the world, anticipation is high for the vampire film, and PARK himself has been quoted saying that "Thirst" might be his finest achievement.

Song Kang-ho plays a priest who turns into a vampire after testing a newly developed vaccine on himself. SONG said that he was extremely happy to have the opportunity to try his hand at this challenging role. Talented Kim Ok-bin takes on the female lead and Shin Ha-kyun adds more acting quality to the project.

PARK's international fame led to "Thirst" being co-produced by Hollywood major studios Universal and Focus. Thirst's post-production will take a couple of months before the film's release in early 2009.

PARK told reporters that he receives about one script per week from Hollywood. So far, there hasn't been a project which interested him enough to follow fellow Korean filmmakers, mainly actors, to the US. He would seriously consider making a film in Hollywood if an interesting project would come along.
