A member of the girl group Kara, Park Gyu-ri, was recently diagnosed with a vocal nodule.
Her agency, DSP Media, said on November 23, "Park Gyu-ri went to a hospital after feeling a problem on her vocal cords during singing practice for the musical work 'Beautiful Girl', in which she appears as the protagonist, and she was diagnosed with a vocal nodule on November 18". Park Gyu-ri has been actively performing as a Kara group member both in Korea and Japan since last August and appearing in the musical "Beautiful Girl" in Japan.
Her vocal cords have been damaged from fatigue from her continuous activities. The agency said, "Park Gyu-ri has been suffering from a sore throat and lost her voice.
The doctor suggested she take a break, but she keeps practicing for the musical that will begin from December 6 at Chungmu Art Hall". Park Gyu-ri said, "I am sad due to the bad condition of my throat, but I will try my best to recover soon to fulfill my responsibility on the stage".
