J.Y. Park to Represent Asia at U.N. Youth Summit

Producer/singer J.Y. Park will represent Asia at the U.N. Youth Leadership Summit dedicated to fighting malaria on October 29.
The summit, the first of its kind, will be a gathering of leaders of youth organizations from 192 countries and will take place at the U.N. headquarters for three days. Participants will discuss efforts to fight poverty, provide all children with education and eradicate AIDS and malaria. The event will also be attended and supported by the U.N. secretary general and global leaders.
Park will also participate in a gala on October 29 at the U.N. general Assembly Hall. The concert will be organized by organizations dedicated to fighting malaria as well as the World Culture Open (WCO). Top artists representing the five continents will perform to encourage efforts of young people worldwide to uproot malaria.
Park says participating in the summit along with youth leaders from all over the world will be a meaningful event for him and that he is grateful for having this opportunity to perform as a musician on an international stage. "We will use music and culture as a means of uniting people in a world that seems to be divided by politics", said Park.
Park has gained fame not only as a singer but also the producer of such top bands and singers as G.O.D. and Rain. He has also produced hit songs for globally renowned artists, such as Will Smith, Marques Houston, Mase and Cassie, and recently has been trying to establish an American music label in New York.
The summit concert will be viewed by millions of people worldwide via the U.N. TV network. Park will be the first Asian artist to perform at the historic event. Park, who in the past received an award from the Ministry of Health and Welfare for his humanitarian efforts, continues his philanthropic activities to this day in cooperation with the charity organization World Vision.
