Debut director Jo Chang-ho received the Best Young Director award for "The Peter Pan Formula" at the 27th Durban International Film Festival, which ran June 14th -27th in South Africa. The film's main actor On Joo-wan also won a Best Performance award by an actor in a leading role for his sensitive portrayal of a teenage-boy's growing pains.

Jo's "The Peter Pan Formula" participated in the festival's main competition section, alongside another Korean film, Grain in the Ear by Korean-Chinese director ZHANG Lu. Both films have garnered praise and prizes previously with Grain in the Ear taking the top award at the Pusan International Film Festival last year, and The Peter Pan Formula winning the Jury's Prize at France's Deauville Asian Film Festival in March.

Durban International Film Festival director, Nashen Moodley believes that "Korea is one of the most vibrant and exciting film-producing countries in the world right now". A total of 5 Korean films were invited to this year's festival. The three showcased in the Panorama section were Kim Jee-woon's A Bittersweet Life, Chung Yoon-chul's "Marathon", and Park Chan-wook's "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance".
