A Taiwan film festival will hold special retrospective programs on the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF), Kim Ji-seok, PIFF programmer, announced on Monday.

Kaohsiung Film Festival, which takes place in Taiwan from June 17 to 25, will hold an exhibition to show the history of PIFF as well as screen films introduced through the Korean festival over the past 10 years.

On the eve of Kaohsiung Film Festival's official opening, Kim Dong-ho, festival director of PIFF, and renowned Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao Hsien, will hold a symposium to discuss issues about independent and big-budget filmmaking.

Kaohsiung Film Festival is one of three major film festivals in Taiwan, which originally took place in December during previous years, and PIFF is the biggest film festival in Asia, taking place in October.
