"Planet of Snail" rides on rumors and enters top 10

Sentimental mellow documentary "Planet of Snail" directed by Lee Seung-joon entered the top 10 box office for the first time.

According to the Korean Films Commission on the 5th, "Planet of Snail" gathered 916 audiences in 39 theaters all around the country on the 4th, adding up to a total of 10,933 audiences and landing on the 7th place of the Box Office.

Having been released on the 22nd last month, "Planet of Snail" traveled through word-of-mouth. Despite the fact that it was shown in very few theaters, group viewing in schools, charity events and companies have been increasing and individuals like director Lee Seong-Gyou, novelist Kim Tak-hwan, comedian Nam Hee-suk and others have been promoting this documentary on their Twitters and such.

"Planet of Snail" is about Yeong-chan, a deaf and blind who sees and listens to the world with the tips of his fingers and Soon-ho who is smaller than usual people due to his spinal symptoms but has a heart like the ocean. For the first time in Korean movies, the original version and the commentary version with Kim Chang-wan is both being shown in theaters.

"Talking Architect", a human documentary about last few journeys of the late Chung Guyon also entered the top 10 Box Office.
