Police to Question Park Yoo-chun on Rape Charges

Police investigating boy band member Park Yoo-chun on charges of raping four women said Sunday that male DNA was found in the underwear of the first woman to file charges.

The underwear was sent to the National Forensic Service for analysis. Police plan to summon Park this week to collect DNA samples.

But even if the DNA in the underwear turns out to match Park's, police need to persuade the woman, who has since withdrawn her charges, to testify that she was forced to have sex with the pop star.

"We intend to investigate rumors that she was paid a substantial amount of money to withdraw her accusations", a police spokesman said.

Since the first case broke last Monday, three other women have come forward to accuse Park of raping them.

Police said the third woman is pressing charges. She said she met Park in a bar with her friends in June 2014 and the group went to his home, where he raped her in the bathroom.

The fourth woman claimed Park raped her in the toilet of a bar in Gangnam in February 2015.

Three of the women are bar hostesses, and all the incidents allegedly occurred in bathrooms.

But in three of the cases there is no physical evidence available since they allegedly occurred six months to two years ago.
