[Policy] Global buyers in the area of cultural content flock to Korea

SBMB (Small and Medium Business Administration) joins hands with KOTRA (Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency) for export and industrialization of 'cultural content'. In collaboration with SBMB, KOTRA hosts 'Korea Media & Content Market 2009' on 29th and 30th June at Sheraton Grande Walkerhill Hotel, Seoul, Korea.
Under the theme of 'Content: A Turning Point Toward A New Economy', it is attended by a large number of buyers around the globe in the area of cultural content. Accordingly, the export industry suffering from recession is expected to be boosted.
As part of this event, a conference is held on 29th, the first day of the event, where renowned speakers will deliver lectures on strategies for overseas expansion of cultural content. For this, speakers such as director of Paramount Pictures are invited to deliver speeches with the theme of 'Media Business Strategy in the Ubiquitous Era'. In addition to this, lectures will be given on 'Business Strategies and Profit Models for Foreign Partners' presented by global companies through 4 tracks such as game, animation, media, and character licensing.
On the second day, '1:1 Biz Matching Consultation' will take place. More than 350 buyers from the Americas and Europe promised to participate in the event. Those buyers include Sony Online Entertainment, Lucas Film, the world' leading multiplatform casual games company Oberon Media, multinational developer and publisher of games THQ(Toy Headquarters), the largest media company in South and Central America Televisa, and Thailand's online game publisher Aisasoft.
