Pop Culture Drawing More Female Visitors

The number of foreign women who visited the nation was found to be on a continuous rise thanks to the high popularity of Korean pop culture.

According to the Korea Tourism Organization Wednesday, female travelers accounted for 44 percent of total foreign tourists last year. That's higher than the 42 percent posted in 2004 and 39 percent posted in 2003, and a significant rise compared to the 33 percent recorded in 1995.

Last year, around six million foreigners had visited the nation, including two-point-four million Japanese, 710-thousand Chinese and 530-thousand Americans.
