PSY's Popularity Going Global

The popularity of PSY's "Gangnam Style" has been a worldwide phenomenon since debuting in July.
PSY's now-famous horse dance and the song's catchy rhythm have contributed to the rise, and it's not just fans who have taken notice.
U.S. pop star Justin Bieber's record agency contacted PSY last month and expressed a desire to work with the Korean artist in the future.

[Interview : ] "We have come to an agreement to make some history together and be the first Korean artist break a big record in the United States".

PSY's record company YG Entertainment announced on Tuesday that that it had signed a contract with the U.S'.s biggest record company, Universal Music.
The contract allows for distribution of PSY's album globally, with the exception of Korea.

Universal Music is well known for producing some of the world's top-selling artists, from Bieber and Mariah Carey to Jennifer Lopez.
Now, PSY's name can be added to the list.

[Interview : ] " With PSY's music going global, people will know the diverse aspects of K-pop. We hope that this will be the stepping stone, one that take Hallyu, or the Korean Wave to a whole new level".

With the ink still drying on his newly signed record deal, PSY will attend the International Music Video Awards ceremony in Los Angeles this coming Friday as a special guest. although he's not a nominee nor will he perform.
After the ceremony, PSY plans stay in the U.S. for two weeks for a number of talk show appearances and other events.
