Public Broadcasters Int'l Opens in Seoul

The Public Broadcasters International 2007, a gathering of public broadcasters from all over the world, has opened in Seoul under the theme "Digital Revolution and PSB Perspectives".

The forum is being attended by some 100 figures from worldwide public broadcasting companies, including NHK Chairman Genichi Hashimoto and CEO of South African Broadcasting Corporation Adv. Dali Mpofu.

A welcome ceremony was held Oct. 10 by the PBI executive committee and the Seoul metropolitan government. The opening ceremony was held Oct. 11 at the Seoul Hilton Hotel, announcing the two-day run of the forum.

Participants will discuss the role of public broadcasters in this era of integration of broadcasting and communication.
