Pusan and Vietnam film festivals sign MOU

The Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) has forged a partnership with the Vietnam International Film Festival, which will inaugurate its first edition this October, for greater film collaboration across Asia.

The two festivals signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on May 15th, at the 'Vietnamese Film Night' held during Cannes. PIFF director Kim Dong-ho and Lai Van Sinh, the chairman of the Vietnam International Film Festival inked an agreement on artistic, financial and educational exchanges with mutual collaboration.

The Vietnam International Film Festival will be the first international film festival to be held in Vietnam, and has been under preparation for five years. Vietnam Media, the organizer of the fest has worked in close collaboration PIFF over the last four years. The first edition of the festival is scheduled to open October 17, 2010, two days after PIFF wraps its 15th edition running October 7 – 15.
