Pusan's Asian Film Market to offer online screening service

2010/09/07 Source

This year the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) and Asian Film Market will launch an innovative online screening service starting September 6th, 2010. In an effort to increase business convenience and efficiency, participants of Asian Film Market will now be able to view market films online from the comfort of their hotel during the four days of the market October 10 13, and even from their home country or elsewhere for an extended period until October 31.

The service, called Online Screening, allows sales companies to upload their line-up and Market buyers and participants to log in from anywhere and view films at their convenience. A 'report function' allows copyright holders and authorized sales agents who have uploaded films to check data on viewers who have previewed their film.

Earlier from September 6, registered sales agents will be able to use Online Screening to view independent films not yet represented by a sales company, while participants in PIFF's project market, PPP, will be able to view the previous works of directors selected in PPP2010. The new service is expected by the fest to greatly expand representation and sales of independent features and boost overall sales by allowing market participants to schedule more meetings during the market and view films at their own convenience.
