Singer Rain received the "Korean Artist of the Year" award at the MTV-CCTV Mandarin Music Honors that was held July 24 at the Workers Stadium in Beijing, China. In the finale of the ceremony Rain performed his hit songs "Bad Guy" and "It's Raining".

The Mandarin Music Honors, held annually by MTV China and CCTV and now in its seventh year, is the largest music festival in China. It usually features top artists from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and the United States.

Rain was invited to the ceremony as a guest performer representing Korea. His award was presented to him by another top Korean singer/actress, Jang Nara, who has gained enormous popularity in China recently.

MTV China chose nominees for the "Korean Artist of the Year" award from a pool of artists whose music videos have been shown on its channel the most during the year.
