"Return" is in the midst of adapting to recent changes involving Go Hyun-jung stepping down as Choi Ja-hye after highly publicized disagreements with production. Park Jin-hee swiftly took the role and the drama resumed filming. The status of the altercations that took place between Go Hyun-jung differ deending on whose side speaks. Safe to say, there were disagreements and the result is the actress departed her role.

Ratings have fallen slightly, perhaps reflecting the controversy, the airing of the Pyeongchang Olympics, or a variety of other reasons.
