Regular Paper Subscribers Rising

The number of regular newspaper subscribers is increasing. The number of people who read newspaper ads has also increased from last year.
The Korea Broadcast Advertising Group commissioned a survey on consumer patterns to pollster Research International. The percentage of regular subscribers to total paper readers grew from 46.6% in 2005, 49.2% in 2006 to 50% this year. The rise is believed to be due to less people sharing papers. Also, 41.6% of people who read the papers said they read the ads as well, up from 38.2% last year. As for why they read the papers, 66% cited information and knowledge, 20.5% as a habit, 7.2% for entertainment and 4.8% to kill time.
Favorite ad models were actress Lee Young-ae (9.8%) and actor Jang Dong-gun (5.4%), topping the poll for the third year. The most memorable TV commercials were 'AnyCall' and 'Show' (5.7% each), followed by 'LG Cyon
