Release of New Action Comedy Delayed Due to COVID-19 Resurgence

The release of a new action comedy has been delayed at the last minute due to a resurgence in coronavirus cases.

The move is raising concerns that it may dampen the recovery the film industry has seen recently with some blockbusters like "Peninsula" and "Deliver Us From Evil", after a long period in the doldrums caused by the coronavirus outbreak.

"The Golden Holiday" was scheduled to hit theaters on Wednesday, but the film's distributor on Sunday decided to postpone its release until further notice as new coronavirus cases have surged again.

"We made the decision to cooperate with the government's efforts to prevent the spread of the virus as it increased the level of social distancing", the distributor said, referring to the ban on big gatherings of more than 50 people indoors and 100 outdoors and allowing no spectators at sports events.

It added, "We regret the postponement and hope people understand that we made the decision for the safety of the public".
