Summer is just around the corner, and with it are ghosts and psychos ready to make moviegoers scream.

Many of the season's upcoming films are remakes and sequels, which should look familiar to those who enjoy being terrified in the theater.

"The Red Shoes "(Punhong Sin) (July 8)

The movie is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's story "The Red Shoes". Starring Kim Hye-soo, the film tells of a possessed pair of red shoes, which lead the owners to terrifying deaths.

A woman finds a pair of red shoes abandoned on a subway station and is mysteriously attracted to them. When she has them on, she feels delighted but also finds a hidden desire. She later realizes the shoes also have an influence on other people, including her daughter.

"Voice Letter" (Yogo Kwedam: Moksori) (July 15)

This fourth sequel to the 1998 film "Whispering Corridors", once again makes a girl's high school the most dreadful place to be. The film will create a fear of the unseen with stories of the dead who seem incapable of moving on after high school.

A student is terrified by the fact that she can hear the voice of her late friend who died while singing in a music room, and experiences a series of mysterious accidents.
