The civil suit between singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong and his ex-girlfriend ended in favor of Kim Hyun-joong.

Seoul High Court Civil Affairs Division 32 dismissed Choi's appeal against Kim Hyun-joong.

On the other hand, the Court ruled that Choi owes 100 million won to Kim Hyun-joong for his charges against her on defamation.

Choi claimed that she had a miscarriage because Kim Hyun-joong hit her in the stomach.

Kim Hyun-joong claimed defamation on Choi and counter-sued her.

In a mixed case of both sides, the first trial accepted Kim Hyun-joong's claim in August 2016.

At that time, the court ruled that based on the objective data such as Choi's visits to the hospital, and wrote that "there is no evidence that Choi has miscarried due to Kim Hyun-joong's assault and that Kim Hyun-joong forced abortion".
