Korean actor Ryu Soo-young has been discharged from the military after serving as a riot police for two years at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.

Since October 2008, the 31-year-old actor had been at the agency as part of fulfilling the country's two-year mandatory military service alongside fellow actor Cho Seung-woo.

"What I am most concerned about is my colleague, Cho Seung-woo, who still has a month and a half of his service left. We have become close since we served in the military side-by-side for the past two years", the recently released actor said.

He explained that he will meet with several fans in the afternoon and visit his parents. He also added on his future endeavors saying, "I plan to go on a bicycle trip with my friends for about a month and then look for a new project".

Ryu Soo-young, whose real name is Uh Nam-sun, made his debut in entertainment, playing a college student in a cooking show in 1998. He soon appeared on the small screen in various dramas and won the SBS new star award in 2002 for his role in the "The Successful Story Of A Bright Girl" with singer and actress Jang Nara.

He also starred in several movies including "Summer Time" (2001) and "Blue" (2003).
