Samsung already announced that it is planning to add many new models to its Galaxy series in 2013, and the company has kicked its launching streak by releasing the Galaxy Pop in Korea!

* Samsung has released phones in other countries called the Galaxy Pop, but this isn't that one, it's… different.

You can think of the Galaxy Pop, with it's 4.65-inch, 1280 x 720 AMOLED display as a sort of mini Galaxy S III. (The Galaxy S III has a 4.8-inch screen.) The Pop is powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and keeps its big brother's 1.4 GHz quad-core processor. This slightly smaller phone should fit more easily into your hand and, probably into the pocket of your pop star-inspired leather jeans.

Samsung's Galaxy series, including the Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S III, was a global megahit in 2012 and the world's largest phone maker seems to be starting 2013 off right. According to Samsung, more than 100 million Galaxy smartphones have been sold, to date. Will Samsung be able to sustain its popularity in 2013? Tell us in the comments!
