Samsung Ranks 2nd in Patent Registration in U.S.

Samsung acquired the second-highest number of patents in the U.S. last year.

IFI Claims Patent Services said Wednesday that Samsung registered 6,471 patents, holding the No. 2 ranking for 14 consecutive years.

IBM ranked first with 9,262 patents. Samsung was followed by Canon, Microsoft and Intel. LG was in sixth place with 805 patents.
