Seo Yea-ji Acknowledges Relationship With Kim Jung-hyun, Denies Affecting his Drama

Actress Seo Yea-ji said that she had a relationship with fellow actor Kim Jung-hyun in the past, but she did not cause his departure from the drama.

Seo Yea-ji's agency Gold Medalist made an official position on the 13th and said, "As a result of confirmation with Kim Jung-hyun, we have clearly confirmed that the drama-related controversy was not caused by Seo Yea-ji".

Dispatch, an entertainment media outlet, reported earlier that Kim Jung-hyun refused to touch his partner Seohyun at the MBC TV drama "Time - Drama" production presentation in 2018, and repeated this during filming and eventually dropped out due to Seo Yea-ji's demand. The media also released some text messages containing private conversations between the two.

The agency said, "It is hard to understand in common sense that the main actor of the drama acts without his or her free will according to someone's words", adding, "It is practically impossible for an actor to act and film without any will".

It also claimed that although it was not shown in the text messages between the two released through Dispatch, Kim Jung-hyun also demanded Seo Yea-ji, who was filming another work, not to film a kiss scene.

The agency said, "This can be seen as a common love fight between actors in the industry", and added, "All actors proceed normally regardless of the love fight". At the same time, the agency said, "As a result, we deeply regret the fact that we caused many people's concerns with such matters".

Regarding the controversy over Seo Yea-ji's academic background, the agency also said, "She prepared for admission to Complutense University of Madrid in Spain, but she did not attend college regularly since she was active in Korea. Also, suspicions about school violence are not true at all".

Seo Yea-ji was scheduled to attend a press preview of the movie "Recalled" but she didn't show up as if she was aware of the controversy. The agency also said, "We sincerely apologize to the movie officials, actors and reporters".

Meanwhile, Kim Jung-hyun is also reportedly preparing for a position regarding the controversy.
