The Seoul Metropolitan Government said Wednesday it wanted to unveil the park when the flowers are in full bloom and the trees in leaf, so it postponed the grand opening by about a month".

The official name of the park, which converts an unsightly old flyover on the model of New York's High Line, is "Seoullo 7017" because it was built in 1970 and was reborn in 2017.

It is 10.3 meters wide and over 1 km long and will be decorated with trees, shrubs and flowers.

Construction is about 70 percent finished, and six elevators and an escalator are being built. Planting of flowers and trees will start at the end of this month.
