"Shadowless Sword", 10 million dollar of total export sales amount in 23 countries

The Korean movie, "Shadowless Sword", had a success to be exported to 23 countries. It recorded 10 million dollar of sales amount in total.
Taewon Entertainment said on Nov 11, "Shadowless Sword" was made a contract of distribution and sales in 600 thousand dollar with Entertainment Film (UK) and the contracts with Eagle Pictures (Italy), Warner Brothers (Germany), Metropolitan (France), Village Roadshow (Australia), Tri Pictures (Spain) and others were put through.
The export of "Shadowless Sword" has a significant meaning since the nations of South Ameirica, North Europe and Middle Asia such as Lebanon, Peru, Portugal, Iceland, Chile, Israel, Mexico and India are also included, which seldom have a chance to see the Korean movies.
So far "Shadowless Sword" has recorded a sales amount of 10 million dollar and it is expected to be 20 million dollar as it is under negotiation with Asian nations like Japan. "Shadowless Sword" is the first record in Koran movies that the overseas total sales amount is over 10 million dollar.
Despite no specific Hallyu stars in this movie, the reason why it make a great success in export is because of the investment of Hollywood major film company New Line Cinema along with its compact story and flourish special effects.
New Line Cinema, well-known with "The Lord of the Rings", invested over 30% of total production cost to "Shadowless Sword". The underwater action scene of "Shadowless Sword" is a first trial in the world and was well received by its audiences in Cannes Film Festival in May.
"Shadowless Sword" will be released on Nov 18 in Korea, of which background is Balhae age and story is about the adventure, love, freindship of four main knights.
