"Smart Content 2011 Awards & Conference" is announcing that it is accepting nominations until September 29 for the Smart Content 2011 Awards, which is organized by Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA, Head Jae-ung Lee) and hosted by Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism of Korea (MCST, Minister Byeong-guk Jung).

In this event, which is now in its 6th year, the name has been changed from "mobile content" to "smart content" to increase the breadth of eligible content from mobile content to content for smart devices. In addition to awards, there will be a variety of programs for app developers such as a conference and workshops on app development and investment pitching. The event will take place at Samsung Coex over two days from November 2-3.

The Smart Content Award is for smart device content and services both in and out of Korea. Awards are given in 5 main categories (game, entertainment, information, social networking, and education), and 2 special awards are given in the categories of innovation and smart TV. Awards consist of a trophy, USD $5,000, and an emblem of excellence. Additionally, continuing publicity support will be given for events such as G-Star, and Korean award recipients will be provided with overseas marketing support through admission to next year's Mobile World Congress (MWC 2012) to be held in Barcelona, Spain.

Contest registration can be filed until the 29th of this month by filling out the registration form at the event homepage (www.SmartContent2011.org).
