Smithsonian Museum Hosts Korean Film Fest

A Korean historical costume film was screened at the Warner Brothers Theater in the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History in Washington D.C. on Saturday.

"The Royal Tailor" drew great interest among those interested in Korean culture as it tells the story of royal tailors during the Chosun Dynasty and features over a thousand costumes that show the beauty of hanbok, or traditional Korean dress.

The screening was part of the Korean Film Festival hosted by the museum for a month starting from May 7. Among the other films screened were the indie documentary "My Love, Don't Cross That River" and commercial films like "Veteran" and "The Throne".

Lee Wonsuk, the director of "The Royal Tailor", attended the festival to talk with the audience.

"I hope the film helps increase interest in Korean culture and the country itself", Lee said.
