Son Seung-ho hit other cars while driving his father's Mercedes under the influence of alcohol on the 26th of December in Sinsadong, Seoul.

After hitting the cars, he drove 150 meters more while crossing the centerline in the process. His reckless driving was put to a stop when citizens and a taxi blocked his way

Son Seung-won lied that his fellow actor Jung Hwi, who was in the car with him, drove the car and refused to do a sobriety test, but later admitted that it was him.

When he was arrested, Son Seung-won's alcohol level was over 0.206%, which could get his license terminated. He also has 3 accounts of drunk driving and his license had been terminated when he was caught drunk driving in September last year.

This is the first case where the Yoon Chang-ho Law, which increases the punishment on drunk driving, has been applied to a celebrity. He is also being charged with driving off under the Specific Crimes Act and driving without a license under the Road Traffic Act.

Son Seung-won was released right after he was arrested, but was booked again when it turned out he committed the same crime repeatedly. The Court said, "The crime is called out, and the reason for the arrest and the need are recognized".

Meanwhile, police are investigating Jung Hwi for suspicion of assisting drunk driving.

Giving that Jung Hwi was sitting in the car first because Son Seung-won had apparently called the substitute driver and tried to stop him when he decided to drive the car himself, it's hard to say that Jung Hwi assisted in this case.

Police say, "It would not have been easy for Jung Hwi to stop him as Son Seung-won is a senior and the accident occurred in just 1 minute into driving".
