The Korea Society joins the newly renovated Museum of the Moving Image in presenting Lee Chang-dong's masterful "Poetry", which took the 2010 award for best screenplay at Cannes, a first for Korea.
 
A mysterious death, a woman with Alzheimer's, and a poetry class are at the core of this highly acclaimed new film by Lee Chang-dong ("Secret Sunshine"). Featuring an indelible central performance by Yoon Jung-hee, this multilayered drama is not to be missed.
 
This special screening, made possible by Kino International, will show at the Museum of the Moving Image, ten minutes from The Korea Society, at 35th Avenue and 37th Street in Astoria.

About the Director:
Lee Chang-dong was a successful novelist and screenwriter before emerging as one of Korea's most talented directors. His films "Peppermint Candy", "Oasis", "Secret Sunshine" and award-winning debut "Green" Fish uniquely critique Korean society. Lee has won tremendous international recognition and taken awards at Venice and Vancouver, as well as Cannes.
