Jang Hyuk showed jeet-keun-do action from the first episode.

On the first episode of the SBS drama "Deep-rooted Tree", Kang Chae-woon (Jang Hyuk) planned to kill Sejong (Lee Do; Han Suk-kyu).

Kang Chae-yoon planned and imagined killing Sejong where everyone was gathered. In his imagination he ran towards Sejong. While defeating the demonstrators, he displayed fancy action, his specialty jeet-keun-do. He had once shown it in the drama "The Slave Hunters".

Kang Chae-yoon defeated the demonstrators and the best sword fighter Moo-hyool (Cho Jin-woong) but got hit by an arrow. He had to think of a way to defeat all of them at once. Why he wants to kill Sejong is still unknown.
