On the firty-seventh episode of the MBC drama "Empress ki", Ki Seung-nyang (Ha Ji-won) ruled as regent as Ta Hwan (Ji Chang-wook) fainted and lay sick in bed.

Ta Hwan was jealous that Ki Seung-nyang saved Wang Yoo (Joo Jin-mo) and suffered from nightmares of her trying to kill himself. He had her stopped from any participation and sided with Baek Ahn (Kim Young-ho).

Baek Ahn had the Royal Seal and caused tyranny to his will and took out all that were on Ki Seung-nyang's side. Ta Hwan drank to keep himself from having nightmares. Ki Seung-nyang advised him to look after the nation's people that were starving to death.

However, while Ki Seung-nyang was attending to business, Ta Hwan saw Wang Yoo and had a fit. The physician said all the drinking had blocked his aeremia and it wasn't clear when he would wake up.

Baek Ahn and the Queen Mother schemed to get rid of Ki Seung-nyang. However, she was faster. She acted as regent using her son, the prince Ah Yoo. She had the authority and took out all those who were corrupted on Baek Ahn's side with the help of Tal Tal (Jin Yi-han).

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Court Lady Seo found out that Maha (Kim Jin-sung-I) was the son of Ki Seung-nyang and Wang Yoo and told Ta Hwan.
