[Spoiler] "Golden Time" emergency surgery gets put back for VIP

2012/07/10 | 438 views | Permalink | Source

The medical reality we see on "Golden Time" does not seem like a story in a drama.

MBC drama "Golden Time" showed the rough hospital life of intern Lee Min woo (Lee Sun-kyun) and Kang Jane (Hwang Jung-eum). Traumatologist Choi In-hyeok (Lee Sung-min) was anxious because he couldn't secure a surgery for an emergency patient.

The emergency patient was blocked at the door for the reason that there were no empty surgical rooms. The patient wouldn't be treated even by force.

Choi In-hyeok went around to get a room but this urgent patient wasn't even yielded by a VIP back surgery. He had to send this patient to another hospital.

This isn't just in the drama. There are not many hospitals that treat only emergency injuries like fractures and bleeding from car accidents or crashes. There are also less than 10 traumatologists in the whole country. There is a reason why Choi In-hyeok cries for the establishment of a emergency medical center.

Hopefully, "Golden Time" can ring a bell in the emergency medial situation of our country. "Golden Time" is shown every Monday and Tuesday at 9:55PM.
