On the episode 36 of MBC Monday & Tuesday drama, "Monster - 2016", Kang Gi-tan (Kang Ji-hwan) succeeded in rescuing Ok Chae-ryeong (Lee El).

On this day, Kang Gi-tan asked Moon Tae-gwang (Jung Woong-in) about Ok Chae-ryeong, as it became clearer that Byeon Il-jae (Jung Bo-suk) would be released from the accusation of election law violation. Prior to this, Moon Tae-gwang mentioned that there was someone on Byeon Il-jae's side, who had been helping Kang Gi-tan, and Kang Gi-tan realized he was talking about Ok Chae-ryeong.
Ok Chae-ryeong had been confined in a long-term care hospital by Hwang Jae-man (Lee Deok-hwa) and Byeon Il-jae. Kang Gi-tan started working together with Oh Soo-yeon (Sung Yu-ri) in order to make it possible that Ok Chae-ryeong stand as a witness for the upcoming trial. While Oh Soo-yeon was earning time using the election campaign crews as the witnesses at the court, Kang Gi-tan went out to rescue Ok Chae-ryeong.
Right after he rescued Ok Chae-ryeong, he headed to the court. As soon as Oh Soo-yeon was informed of Ok Chae-ryeong's arrival, she announced to the judge that she had one more witness. Byeon Il-jae was shocked to see Ok Chae-ryeong walking into the court.
