[Spoiler] 'The Merchant: Gaekju 2015' Father gives up on his life at a cliff to save his son

On the first episode of KBS 2TV's new Wednesday & Thursday drama, "The Merchant: Gaekju 2015" little Cheon Bong-sam (Jo Hyeon-do) and his father Cheon Oh-soo (Kim Seung-soo) left to Qing Dynasty to sell trepang (dried sea cucumbers).

While the group of the merchants were walking along the edge of a cliff, they slipped. Bong-sam and Oh-soo had to hold onto one rope. The people tried hard to pull up the two to the extent their hands started bleeding. However, they were short of the strength to pull up both of them.
Oh-soo let the rope go off his hands in order to save his son. Bong-sam saw his father falling and shrieked "Father".
"The Merchant: Gaekju 2015" depicts a success story by Cheon Bong-sam, a successor of a closed down business, Cheon Family Inn, who starts up again as a tout in a street market, moves up as a manager of trading troupe and an owner of large Inn and finally succeeds as a prosperous wealthy merchant.
