On the 31st episode of KBS 2TV's "The Merchant: Gaekju 2015", Mael-wol asked So-gae to kill So-sa.

So-gae incited a peddler to set a venomous snake loose in the stable inn. The snake bit So-sa, who came out to grab some kimchi. When Man-chi heard her screaming, he ran out to So-sa and removed poison and then asked for a physician to come in.
When a physician hurriedly arrived at the place, he diagnosed it's too late because the poison spread all over her body. Seon-dol went to Mae-wol and begged her to save So-sa's life. Although So-gae told her not to go, Mae-wol went out to see So-sa, while saying she wanted to see So-sa's last moment. So-gae gave her a pouch of poison and told her, "In case she suffers too much at the last moment, give this to her so she could leave more easily".
Mae-wol pretended she was checking So-sa's pulse and So-sa realized that it was Mae-wol who did this to her. Mae-wol asked Bong-sam to stay outside for a moment. Mae-wol dissolved the poison from So-gae in water and made So-sa swallow it. Mae-wol said Bong-sam was a man of her destiny and asked So-sa to leave now without suffering too much". Mae-wol burst into tears.
Mae-wol later asked Bong-sam to come in and said, "It seems that it's her last moment". Bong-sam broke down and cried. So-sa told him, 'I have been happy" and breathed her last.
