She was desperate but Gong Soo-ah (Park So-yeong) was excluded from the murder case because she'd been in contact with Baek Sang-ho, Baek Min-ho's (Kim Kwon) brother and manipulated her statement. There was a problem with Yeo Jin-wook's (Yoon Hyun-min's) case, too. Yeo Jin-wook brought forth Ahn Tae-gyu's gloves as evidence, but it had been manipulated.

Ma Yi-deum was taken to the Ministry of Justice Judicial Affairs and the file with Baek Sang-ho's confession of Jo Gap-soo was revealed. However, Jo Gap-soo offered a deal that would save Baek Min-ho. In the end, Baek Sang-ho stated that Ma Yi-deum threatened him and Jo Gap-soo was innocent.

However, the next day, Baek Sang-ho was found dead. Baek Min-ho was sentenced to eighteen years in prison and Jo Gap-soo became mayor. Min Ji-sook (Kim Yeo-jin) took responsibility and quit to save Ma Yi-deum. Ma Yi-deum who thought she ruined everything, left and came back three months later as a lawyer.
