Spring of Korea: NSS Banquet Blends Native Ingredients with the Season

Get a taste of spring in Korea. The essence of Korean cuisine, made from seasonal and organic ingredients from all regions in Korea, will be on the table for the Nuclear Security Summit 2012.

A Western-style four-course meal of avocado and tomato salad, asparagus soup and Korean beef tenderloin will be served at the welcoming dinner while vegetarian and seafood options will also be available.

And of course, it's not just the dishes -- any first-class banquet begins with a glass of wine.

And for the concluding dinner on Tuesday, a very special sparkling wine made from indigenous Korean berries will be served".

It's made from Omija a 'five-flavored berry' of sweet, sour, salty, bitter and pungent tastes grown in southern Korea.

The reception dinner will be accompanied by performances, as it was at the G20 Summit in the fall of 2010 while over 600 caterers will be working simultaneously to provide timely service to the world's 58 visiting leaders.
