The Cultural Heritage Administration on Thursday acknowledged controversy about four of 28 new uniform designs, and promised to improve designs and colors with input from experts and staff.

The CHA unveiled the 28 new uniforms for staff working at royal palaces and tombs in Seoul earlier this month. But the online reaction was mixed, with many pointing out that they looked alarmingly like Mao suits.

The CHA will modify them so they are more reminiscent of hanbok or Korean traditional dress.
