How many people have actually been able to transform a personal passion into a career? Jung Yun-ki can honestly say that he has.

In the past 11 years, Jung has gone from someone who just happened to like clothes more than the next person to the most sought-after celebrity stylist on the scene.

"Fashion, from a very young age, has always been my great love", Jung says.

"I've been lucky enough to pursue it as a career, but what I have today didn't come easy".

Jung is the man behind the onscreen styles of the biggest names in show business today. More than 200 starlets have had Jung work for them for feature films, soap operas and red carpet events.

"Being rejected solely based on the fact I was a man was the first and by far the most difficult obstacle I had to overcome", he says.

Jung chuckles as he recalls how often he was turned down by TV stations and advertising agencies before he started getting noticed.

According to Jung, in the end it all came down to these three traits _ kindness, hard work and flair.

Today, Jung fronts Intrend, an agency that caters and tailors to the stars.

Ko So-young, Go Hyun-jung, Kim Hee-ae and Hwang Cine are just a few on Jung's long list of regulars.

His reputation has also helped expand his business so that it now encompasses public relations as well. Intrend today handles PR work for Chloe, Paul Smith, Jimmy Choo and other high-end brands.

"What makes male stylists competitive, I believe, lies in that a person of the opposite sex has a quicker eye and catches things that may go unnoticed by someone of the same sex", he says.

He notes that there are now more male stylists compared to a decade ago.

"I'm happy to see more men making it a career choice. The conditions are more favorable", he says. "However, for one to maintain a competitive edge, hard work must follow.

"And this goes for women as well as men".
