According to Nielsen Music, which tracks music record sales for Billboard, SuperM sold about 164,000 albums in the U.S. in about a week after releasing their first self-titled mini album on Oct. 4.

BTS have also topped the chart a number of times, but SuperM are the first K-pop act to do so with their debut album.

Although formed only recently, the seven-member SuperM are familiar to many K-pop fans as they have been cobbled together from members of established bands like EXO, NCT 127, SHINee and WayV.

They will embark on a North American tour next month and perform in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Vancouver.
