The theme for this year's exhibition is "Smart Food! Delicious Life!" and the show will run from May 8 through 11. If you're in the food industry and you'll be in Korea at that time, be sure to mark your calendar.

Here's a delectable video preview of what you can expect:

People's tastes have changed a lot since SEOUL FOOD's original debut. For instance, while soybean paste's pungent odor may have caused some people to avoid it in the past, some chefs have realized that once people get a taste of it, they crave more. This has led to the adoption of the North Asian stable into dishes served in restaurants around the world. SEOUL FOOD gives visitors and exhibitors a chance to see what's coming next in the food industry and keep ahead of trends.

During the exhibition, there will be a special booth dedicated to promoting traditional fermented Korean food, so people who like soy sauce, pepper paste and soybean paste should definitely check out this booth. There are also other unique events happening such as Global Food Plaza, Business matchmaking for domestic buyers, World Food Trend Pavilion, Seoul International Culinary Academy, various seminars related to the food industry and Chef Talk Concert.

The expo will be held at the KINTEX Exhibition Center in Ilsan, north of Seoul. (Clickherefordirections) Entry is restricted to culinary professionals but admission is free with your business card. You do need to register ahead of time on this webpage though.

If you are Korean, for free admission you will need to register on this separate webpage. Do register beforehand or else you will need to pay 10,000 KRW.

If you have any questions about SEOUL FOOD 2012, visit its Facebook and leave a post or comment. While it is in Korean, feel free to write in English ^^
