The keyword this year is 'romance'

2016/03/31 | 4261 views | Permalink | Source

The keyword is romance. The three ground-wave broadcasting stations are coming up with romantic comedy and melodramas.

11 out of 17 dramas that are due to be released this year are romantic dramas: KBS 2TV "Beautiful Mind", "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds", "Uncontrollably Fond", "Hwarang", "Incarnation of Jealousy", MBC "Lucky Romance", "W", "The Mermaid's Prince", SBS "Doctors", "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo" and more.

"Producers" writer Park Ji-eun is also going to come up with a romantic comedy. The romantic element between the Song and Song couple these days is encouraging more room for romantic dramas. Also, just like "Descendants of the Sun" which added human story to the romance, future dramas will fuse other sources into the base.

There are also several dramas that are aiming for the Chinese market. Kim Woo-bin and Suzy's "Uncontrollably Fond", Park Seo-joon and Park Hyung-sik's "Hwarang" and Lee Joon-gi and IU's "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo".
