The fact-finding team finalized reports on the Jang Ja-yeon case on the 13th.

The team reportedly said that Kim Jong-seung, who was the head of an agency affiliated with the late Jang Ja-yeon, should be investigated for alleged perjury.

Kim was accused of perjury during the trial of Lee Jong-gul, a lawmaker of the main opposition Minjoo Party of Korea who was sued by the Chosun Ilbo in 2012. At that time, the Chosun Ilbo filed a libel suit against the lawmaker after he mentioned "President Bang of the Chosun Ilbo" in the so-called Jang Ja-yeon case during a parliamentary interpellation session in 2009.

Other reports also said that the investigation results of the prosecution and police were very poor at the time of the 2009 incident.

Kim Young-hee, the head of the fact-finding team stated on her Facebook, "We've come a long way and it is questionable whether the prosecution and the Justice Ministry are willing to investigate the past".

The prosecution and the committee called on the fact-finding team to supplement the report and will announce the results of its deliberations on the 20th. At this time, a final decision on whether to recommend the prosecution will be made.

The late actress Jang Ja-yeon died to suicide in March 2009, leaving behind a document that said she had been forced to provide sexual services to businessmen, media figures and others. The police and the prosecution cleared all influential figures suspected of sexual violence, and indicted only Kim Jong-seung and former manager surnamed Yoo, on charges of violence and defamation.
