The Ministry of Culture & Tourism to boost the creation capacity of domestic cartoon, animation, & character industry

To boost the creation capacity of domestic cartoon, animation, and character industry and to enlarge oversea market advance, the Ministry of Culture & Tourism supports 12.5 billion won this year.
To nurture animation industry intensively, which is emerging as the core of culture content, the Ministry particularly mapped out a plan also to project a total of 8 billion won into 'Korea Animation Production Studio' by 2008 from this year.
Through this production studio that will be opened this year, middel & long-term development projects such as domestic animation industry's domestic demand amplification, oversea market pioneering, and new media utilization are unrolled.
As for this year's chief projects, the Ministry of Culture & Tourism said 3.5 billion won, 2.4 billion won, 1.3 billion won, 1 billion won will be projected into star project development, excellent pilot program production, oversea export activation, and Korea animation production studio establishment operation respectively.
