"The People - The President's Last Bang" Opens without 3 Scenes

MK Pictures, which produced the movie "The People - The President's Last Bang", has accepted a court order to delete three scenes from the movie, and will release the edited movie on schedule on Feb. 3. "The court's decision was harsh, but we have decided to open the movie as scheduled on Feb. 3 to keep our promise with the audience, and abide by our contracts with theaters, advertisement and PR companies, and investors", said a person close to MK Pictures.

The movie will be shown without three scenes, including the very first and last scenes. The removed scenes featured documentary footage of the pro-democratic movement in Busan in the 1970s, a voiceover of Cardinal Kim Su-hwan against a black screen, and documentary footage of former President Park Chung-hee's funeral.

MK Pictures, however, plans to file a protest against the court's decision sometime in the future.
