The Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival Returns

SICAF, Korea's largest cartoon and animation festival opens July 22. A total of 1,673 animations from 60 countries will play at Seoul Lotte Cinema Konguk University. The exhibition and convention however will take place at Seoul's COEX center. The grand exhibition will be divided into a plethora of displays including animation screening, cartoon and animation display, international digital cartoon competition and the SICAF promotion plan.
In addition to this, the Korea Creative Content Agency will host the Korea Ani Marathon, animation festival. Korea has long been the animation out sourcing capital of the world, colouring for famous cartoons such as The Simpsons and Family Guy. Ironically though, Korean produced animations do not have much of chance internationally least of all domestically. KOCCA's Ani Marathon is designed to give Korean short animations 'platform to screen domestically produced animations more frequently, thereby improving access to short animations and promoting the domestic animation industry'. Ani Marathon will open July 17.
